Agricultural Education Program and Related Clusters Specialist, Virginia Department of Education

Ms. Nutter is the Agricultural Education Program and Related Clusters Specialist at the Virginia Department of Education in Richmond, Virginia, where she oversees the development and implementation of statewide curricula for the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) cluster and related career pathways

Ms. Nutter’s responsibilities include working collaboratively with business and industry representatives, post-secondary institutions, governmental agencies, and professional associations to develop agricultural education programs that prepare Virginia’s students for the global workforce.  She provides technical assistance to teachers, school counselors, administrators, business and industry representatives, and state agencies.  She is responsible for the Commonwealth’s Military Science Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs, and provides leadership to the Virginia Association of Agricultural Educators (VAAE) and the Virginia FFA Association as the state advisor.

Previously, Ms. Nutter served as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor for 20 years and served in the United States Army as a UH-1 Helicopter Technician.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master of Science Degree in Career and Technical Education from Virginia Tech.
