Lou Grillo


Workforce Development Director, Kerr-Tar Workforce Development Board

Mr. Lou Grillo has over two decades of diverse professional experience serving as a team leader, business owner, project manager and advisor to business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Raised in Washington, DC this native Washingtonian first came to North Carolina in the nineties to attend NCA&TSU. After graduating from NCA&TSU in 1999 Mr. Grillo worked in leadership roles for several large companies including Perdue Farms and the Xerox Corporation before returning to North Carolina in 2003 with his wife, who is also a NCA&TSU graduate, and their children. For the last few years Mr. Grillo has been engaged in business and workforce development activities for the Kerr Tar Regional Council of Governments in Henderson, NC where he has worked since 2014. On October 1, 2020 Mr. Grillo was promoted to Workforce Development Director of the Kerr-Tar Workforce Development Board where he previously served as the Business Services Manager. As the Business Services Manager he engaged the local business community by fostering relations and promoting workforce related programs available through the Kerr-Tar Workforce Development Board. Now in his role as the Workforce Development Director he and his team have the opportunity to use their relationships and experiences to build a strong, viable and prepared workforce that will impact the economic sustainability of area businesses and the citizens of the region.
